Use lite version or web apps

We are all addicted to some of the social media apps such as facebook and messenger and with it now we also use google maps very often to locate routes and directions. These apps do consume much of the battery as they are working with the usage of the WiFi or mobile data.

So to overcome this, the app developers has also introduced the lite versions of these apps, which will use less battery. As those lite apps will focus on using less ram and processing power.

Though the name is lite, these apps will have all the prominent features that the original app has, except the unnecessary features which aren’t needed or used by most of the users.

Uninstalled battery consuming or unused apps

We might install an app when we need it in a situation and then that app will remain unused for long. Though the app is not used, it will run in the background to get all its updates accurately, which will lead to the battery draining. At the same time there are some apps that will consume too much of the battery and you have check them from the settings.

To do so, you have to go to the ‘settings’ > ‘battery’ > ‘menu’ > ‘battery usage’ and there you can take a look at all the apps that is using you battery too much.

If you find any such apps you can either u install it, or if you think you might need it, then for the time being you can disable it by going to the ‘ settings’ > ‘app’ and select the particular app and and click on the ‘disable’ option.

Disable location and wifi scanning option

Having the location turned on all the time will lead to the excessive drainage of the battery life. So the location and the GPS functions should always kept turned off at times that you aren’t using them.

You can also disable the WiFi scanning which is available under the location accuracy settings on your android for a better battery life.

Use offline Google maps when needed

Today we use the Google maps to find locations and reach to the right spot without being mis-routed but google map application will consume more of the battery life. And also there is a best option provided by the google app is that it helps the users to download a specific area and use it as offline apps later. Which is a great option. When you use offline maps it will not kill much of your battery life.

Go to the Google maps and select the ‘offline maps’ option from the left navigation bar.

Then go to the map and select the area you want to download using the navigation box that is provided.
